Employee Finance and Benefits

As a resident physician in Alberta, you are an AHS employee and as such, your pay and benefits are provided/administered through AHS.

ePeople

AHS utilizes a payroll and human resources management software system called ePeople to manage and maintain all benefits, payroll and personal information. You will have received a payroll number and have been granted access to ePeople on your start date.

Make sure you have logged into ePeople to ensure that your name and contact information are correct and current. You can also access your pay, benefit and other important employee information through your ePeople account.

Financial Literacy

You can also find more information on the PARA website here.

Employee Benefits

AHS Employee benefits are administered through Alberta Blue Cross. You can access your plan # through your ePeople account. Alberta Blue Cross mails ID cards directly to the employee’s home address (as listed on their ePeople Account).

Rideshare (Taxi) Reimbursement

For resident physicians who are too fatigued to safely drive home, this program provides a ride home from the training facility (and if required, a return trip to the training facility to pick up your vehicle). The program is to be used by those working an in-house or switched call shift where you are required on-site after midnight. The guidelines and forms can be found on the PARA website here.
