As a condition of residency, membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is required for all Resident Physicians. This means that each resident physician must apply for membership. Check out the CMPA website for information on how to apply.
Resident physicians are part of the Authority’s general liability insurance coverage when working at AHS facilities. This coverage does not extend to non-AHS facilities.
AHS will reimburse each Resident Physician in the amount of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) per year as partial reimbursement for the CMPA membership dues.
This reimbursement will be received automatically as a monthly payment in installments of $125.00. This will be separate from salary payments and taxes will not be deducted as it is considered a reimbursement.
